Tracked with Delorme Inreach
...instead of 6 am, we finally got on the road at 10 am. All ready to go, the bike made that funky noise and wouldn't start. Turns out, not enough juice in the battery. Put the trickle charger on for 30 min, and the bike started right up.
Instead of taking PCH, we decided to take Hwy 5, which shaved off about 4 hours of riding time. Near LAX, which met up with Bogdan, an LA based rider, who is riding south on his 2014 BMW 1200 GS.

From LA, it took us about 2 hours, after reaching Casa Pavone, the "Island on the Hills". The carpool lane made it a fast and smooth ride. We were welcomed by our friends with vino and a delicious, well-deserved dinner.
